Welcome, Welkom, <\/span><\/strong>Selamat Datang<\/span><\/strong> to Herrebrugh.com. <\/strong><\/span>This is my gen<\/span>ealo<\/span>gy<\/span> site that chronicles the paternal family history of my mother Constance Anna Rusche (born Herrebrugh)<\/b><\/a> and her father Louis Reynard Herrebrugh<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were 5 generations<\/b> of Herrebrugh\u2019s that lived on the <\/span>Banda Islands<\/a><\/strong> of Indonesia <\/span> from 1772 until 1908. <\/span>They were Dutch planters or Perkeniers that <\/span>cultivated and traded the valuable spice Nutmeg<\/a>, that was found at no other place on earth!
<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Perkeniers<\/span> could work the tracks of land, as long as they promised to live there permanently. There were periods of massive wealth then total collapse of the market.<\/p>\n

Evert Coenrardsz Herrebrugh<\/span> <\/strong>was the first of the Herrebrugh\u2019s that came to the Banda Islands<\/a><\/strong> circa 1794. This was shortly before the VOC, the Dutch East India Company<\/strong><\/a>, that held the Nutmeg monopoly, collapsed<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
